When it's cold and raining, perhaps the furthest thing from our minds is to go on property viewings. Windswept hair and wellington boots are not ideal attire for trekking around someone's home.
So how can we encourage would-be buyers to venture out in inclement weather to view your home?
As the nights draw in and the temperatures drop, we begin to spend more time indoors. Morning coffees in the garden or long summer BBQs seem to be a distant memory as we wrap up warm for autumnal walks and cosy nights.

So how can we encourage would-be buyers to venture out in inclement weather to view your home? The answer - ramp up the cosy factor.
Keep it warm: Is anything more welcoming than a lovely warm home when you've been shivering outside? Allow the warmth of your home to envelop your viewers as they rush in from the cold outside. Get the underfloor heating on and allow your potential buyers to place their cold feet onto a warm floor.
Think Hygge: The Hygge phenomenon took the world by storm a few years ago. Light open fires and candles in a wonderfully autumnal scent - perhaps orange or pumpkin spice. Add chunky woollen blankets and cushions around the home.
Embrace the season: Natural light is not as available during the winter months, so often, we can feel as if the photography won't be as good. But, the winter sun is not to be overlooked, and if its rays are in the right direction, it can create an outstanding result. Also, photographs taken at dusk can be very impactful, capturing the attention of your potential buyers. During summer, the photographer will have to stay very late into the evening to catch the perfect image at dusk, whereas during the winter, this can be done in the afternoon.
Let there be light: Low natural light can make the interior of your home feel a little dull, so turn on lamps and light candles to create a warm glow and ambience. Have outdoor lights turned on and maybe even make a bit of a winter wonderland in the garden with festoon and fairy lights.
Keep the outside tidy: Make sure all outdoor spaces are clean and tidy with autumn leaves swept up and old plants and shrubs cut back neatly. Although we don't have summer flowers, we will have wonderful autumnal leaves and colours that can give a great effect.
Autumn and winter give us an excellent opportunity to make your homes warm and inviting to a viewer, which is not as easy to do during summer. So embrace the chilly temperatures and welcome guests to view your home.
